Hatchery Utility Worker

The Utility Worker is responsible for working in all areas of the hatchery, with the primary responsibilities being to work on the transfer crew and processing crew as needed.

Duties:
1. Performs duties in all areas of the hatchery as assigned:
• Trays eggs from farm racks or cases into incubator racks.
• Loads incubators according to schedule
• Cleans and disinfects incubators, hatchers, egg room, processing room and hatchery equipment
• Transfers eggs from incubators to hatcher trays as part of the Transfer Team and subject to those SOPs. (See Transfer Team job description)
• Assists in all chick processing functions (See chick processing/sanitation job description
•2. Monitors machines and equipment for proper operation and documents findings. Makes adjustments as necessary or informs supervisor when machine or equipment performance is deficient.
•3. Performs minor maintenance duties as required to cover for vacations or absence.
•4. Observes all company personnel, safety, quality and food safety and food safety policies.
•5. All other duties as assigned.
• Willingness to participate in required training provided by Embrex personnel on equipment operations and safety.
• Willingness to participate in required training provided by automation and incubation vendors as well as internal trainers and management.
• Must not raise any poultry or birds.
Qualifications:

College level
Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 60 pounds
Ability to work independently
Ability to adapt and learn various positions and procedures

No exp needed
Minimum qualifications: 18 years old. Graduated from High School or GED equivalent
