English Teacher for Vietnam

The teaching in Vietnam programme is for graduates, ESL certified teachers and those with some teaching experience.

In addition, Teaching in Vietnam allows teachers to complete their training by attending Teacher Training Courses at the same place where they are teaching. Successful trainees who decide to continue on teaching can have their fees reimbursed.

Job locations:
Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau.
Types of job:
Academic Manager, Academic Co-ordinator, EFL teachers for summer courses, young learners and adults.

Academic Manager: The Academic Manager is responsible for the day to day management and development of teachers on both the Young Learners’ and Adults’ programmes. The main focus is teacher management and quality control. Support and training is provided by the Senior Academic Manager.
They will also be responsible for teachers scheduling, induction of new teachers, teacher observations / appraisals / quality control, teacher development / support, testing and assessment, placement testing, teaching and substitute teaching and other academic and administrative duties as requested.

Academic Coordinator: The Academic Coordinators are responsible for teacher support and development on the English for Adults programmes in training centre in Ho Chi Minh City. The Adult programmes have approximately 1,600 full-time and part-time students, with 35 teachers.
The Academic Coordinator for English Communication Skills (ECS) would focus primarily on supporting teachers on our General English Programme.
The Academic Coordinator for Overseas Study Preparation Programme (OSPP) and Exam classes would focus primarily on supporting teachers on our Overseas Study Preparation and Exam Preparation (IELTS and TOEFL) Programmes.

Working hours:
Teachers on both the Adults’ and Children’s programme typically teach between 20 and 25 hours a week.
Salary:
Teachers have competitive remuneration packages based on qualifications and experience and they can earn anything between 1.000-1.400 USD. As well as competitive annual salaries, and on-going professional development opportunities, the staff is also offered:
Annual health insurance allowance;
Contract completion bonus;
Visa and work permit cost paid.
Teachers hired from outside Vietnam are generally offered a one year, full time teaching contract. These contract come with a USD 600 health insurance payment, paid directly to the teacher at the end of the first month of the contract, and a contract completion bonus of USD 1,000 paid out at the successful completion of the contract.

Note: hourly teaching contracts are available but don’t attract the above benefits.
Eligibility
For being eligible to this programme candidates should:
Be native English speakers;
Be between 21 and 35 years;
Have a completed university degree;
Have a CELTA or equivalent TELF certificate.
Teaching experience will be reflected in terms of the contract.
For candidates who would like to apply for an Academic Manager or Coordinator job the requirements are besides the above, the followings:

DELTA / Masters in TESOL or equivalent;
3 years’ teaching experience;
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
A great deal of enthusiasm and energy;
Ability to work in a team environment as independently;
Experience working within reputable language teaching organizations.
